For various reasons, attending the full conference wasn’t feasible. However, living nearby offered a delightful silver lining: I was able to join in on the best part – the post-conference dinner and social gatherings. These informal meetups, after the structured classes had concluded, truly allow for genuine connection and deeper conversations, a stark contrast to the often-rushed interactions during the main event.
One of the highlights was catching up with my dear blogging bestie, Ann Marie from White House Black Shutters. Our friendship blossomed during the very first Haven Conference, and it’s a bond I cherish deeply. It’s always a treat to see her, and this time was extra special. It’s a raw, unedited window into moments, which can be both thrilling and a little terrifying for a content creator.

To kick off this week with productive energy, I’m nearing completion on a set of Adirondack chairs for the backyard patio. The assembly process became a cozy living room affair, with me putting them together while watching TV. While the exterior siding was undoubtedly the more critical job, tackling the trees first simplified my overall summer project list. However, after yet another period of procrastination, I am more acutely aware than ever that this project cannot be delayed any longer. The financial implications are a constant, motivating hum in the background, making it impossible to ignore the inevitable task at hand. It’s a significant investment, but one that will greatly improve the integrity and appearance of my home.
